Estimating Your Photos
Wondering how many photos you have? Here’s a simple trick to help you estimate.
- Neatly stack your photos of similar sizes in a tall tower.
- Measure the height of the stack using a ruler or tape measure (inches).
- Multiply the height of the stack by 60.
For example, if your stack is 4 inches tall, you likely have around 240 photos (4 x 60 = 240).
This method works best for standard 4x6 prints, but it can also give you a rough idea for other photo sizes. It’s quick, easy, and saves you the time of counting every single picture!
If you have thousands of photos, it's best to create multiple different stacks. The math is the same; if you have 20 stacks 6 inches high, you have about 7,200 photos (6 x 60 x 20 = 7,200).
